Kirsten van Schreven was born in South Africa in 1966. Her work is influenced by her fascination with cryptography and the iconography of war.
She gained a Ba (Hons) first class degree in Fine Art Printmaking from Maidstone College of Art and then went on to complete a Master's Degree in Fine Art Printmaking at Chelsea School of Art.
For many years she worked globally in pre-production and design in both the feature film and computer games industry.
She has exhibited widely, including at The Royal Academy of Arts, Cadaques Mini-Print Internacionale, Bankside Gallery, The Mall Galleries, Flowers East and Goldsmiths Gallery.
Awarded the Editorial Prize by "Printmaking Today" - the journal of The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, at The National Original Print Exhibition 2017.
Awarded The Stuart Southall Print Prize at The Royal Society of British Artists 301st Exhibition 2018, The Mall Galleries, London.
